Jeancourt South African Meat Merino Stud (SAMM)
The Jeancourt South African Meat Merino (SAMM) Stud started in September 1995. The principals found that the traditional South East crossbreeding program, using Border Leicester F1's as prime lamb dams, meant that the almost complete dependence on the returns from sheep meat was not maximising the advantage that sheep have over cattle: their wool. The SAMM is used in Merino based production systems to capture hybrid vigour, increase meat returns and add to ewe supply.........
